-Heavy-

I was never a metal fan, but somehow the late Francis Magalona said that to be a great musician, listen and support all kinds of music, cause they're simply intertwined and connected in progression and tempo, no matter how different genres are. Respect; simple respect is what we lack in music. Yeah we may love our own genres and scream out the words on the songs of our play list, but we forget to respect the music of others. Lately, I've come to understand the better side and complexity of metal music. I guess it all started from the catchy riffs of Metallica to the screaming and growling of Asking Alexandria. I do bid my two good friends Patrick Arana and Kurt Molina for sharing with me the concepts of Metal music. Funny thing is I saw a book about the truth of metal music, more of a history book and how it came to be, I bought t and gave it as a book to the two metal lovers I know. It's really more than just loud riffs, unorganized sound or grunting of nonsense, it's really really much more than that. You just have to try to listen and not hear. As for the Philippines, we have our very own metal music scene. Our very own Slapshock represents our country as an internationally known band and have worked with acts from Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. Other bands like Stagnant, Kaikatsuna, The Lost Child, Sin and Typecast all are huge in the Metal music scene, whether mainstream or underground, we're all just appreciating, not hating. To all you metal listeners and lovers out there, a hats off to you, as for those who still think they know music, unless you love all kinds of music, you wont get far fallinf in love with it. Don't hate, appreciate... Godbless you all... :))
