-Just human-

Deep regards to a persons heart... does he listen to his heart, or to his conscience? Would you hate a person if he listened to his heart? He tried everything in his power to keep up with everything at bay, to keep his whole life together. The mirror was his only ally in a world unknown to him, he had to be alert, strong and true. Trying to keep up with everything happening is hard work, he's just torn... between two worlds, two lives and two realities.

Look into the distance, and try listening to the wind. Soothing and relieving as it maybe, you can never refrain from thinking about everything that happened and what is happening. Flashes and clips of everything that happened, you feel your whole life playing back and back again after everything that has happened. Your whole mind, body and soul in another reality, in a reality you always wanted to have. The days were all bright, stars seemed to light up the nights and every breathe you take was another breathe for life. Everything that mattered and everyone you loved was there.

In a blink of an eye, everything you had and everything you seemed to held on, disappears into thin air, just like that. If you aren't willing to lose everything, then you just don't want it bad enough. In this humble life we all live, passion and truth is everything, everything you need to keep you sane and alive. When you're on top of the world, you never seem to want to get back down, you want to stay there for eternity, but yet, every time you open your eyes, you're back where you were.

Close your eyes, grasp your heart and listen closely. In every beat, every dub, the truth in what you want and always wanted is encoded in there. All you have to do is try your best to listen, just listen. What does it all mean?? to listen, to understand, to love. Is the universe just a vast space in which our lives continuously moves in? No... I don't agree... We are all the reason why the world even still turns, because we live and believe. Once in your life, you will feel down, and you will look down, but a breeze will push your chin up, and you'll see how bright the skies have gotten.

"Keep me where the light is", as John Mayer put it, even though everything in the world brings you down, including gravity, always keep your head up, the light will illuminate the way you need to take, so keep your strength at bay. When you are torn between paths, I guess just take the one that has really made you happy... happier than imagined. Fame and fortune are probably the last few things that's really gonna make you happy, believe me. Just be sure choices made will be right not just for others, but especially for you... It's your life, be who you wanna be...

-Wicked... Just wicked-

My weekends really been a blast. I spent today shopping with Kaka Siti, cause she's going back to Brunei on Friday for Abang Erwans wedding. Bought awesome shirts and I'm off to buy classic comics for only 20pesos=0.99cents haha bargain~ I tried out a super cool leather jacket wowser~~ it made me look like i owned a bike, man, even this girl smiled when I put it on. Unfortunately, it cost's as much as one ticket back to Brunei, haha no comparison. Tomorrow's still a holiday, and we're off to SM Mall of Asia, so hopefully I find something to buy there :) I also want to wish my beloved Muslim friends, Selamat menyambut Hari raya Haji. John Mayer's new album, "Batlle Studies", came out like weeks ago, I've listened to a few, but I'm still just waiting for the album to come out here. The christmas spirit is very much alive here, spending it alone is really colder than any winter season anywhere. Wish Icould spend it with people I love, I'll just keep hoping and praying... take care readers :)

-Daily dose of movies-

Thursday and friday were days well spent at the cinema. On Thursday, we watched 17 again for only 17 pesos in BND thats 50cents amazing isn't it? heh~ The movie was cool, heh Matthew Perry was there, the good old Chandler actor. Although, Zac Efron was the one mostly on camera. The movie wasn't so bad, it was mainly about not throwing your life away and when given the chance to change it, take it.

Then, yesterday we watched Christmas Carol starring Jim Carrey. It wasn't as good as I expected, it was really just a classic but in 3D. Out of a ten I would just give it a 6. It wasn't so funny but it really does speak deeply. So those were the two movies I had a chance of watching, we have holidays till Tuesday, so I'm off to Makati, kaka Siti just came back :) we're going out again wohooo~ take care people bye... A bientot...

-Still just breathing-

Another day... Yes, everyday here is almost just like another day. School and home are mostly in my schedule everyday, I don't blame anyone, I chose this, so I live with it, but, would it also be my fault if I said that I miss you very much?? So much, that it seems every cloud spelt out your name, every star seemed to remind me of your undenying smile and how every time I'm asleep, I know it's your name I whisper.

Distance is really a huge burden, to almost anyone in a situation like this. Approximately, 751miles away from me. Voulumes and volumes of water to swim across and dense lands to go through, but I would do it, all just for you. I don't think I've ever seen the night sky so dark, I'm guessing it's all just due to the fact that you're not here to light up my nights and to brighten my days. I'm overjoyed hearing how happy you are, doing what ypu've always loved. Seeing you smile like that is really amazing. I don't need to use fancy words to explain you, you already do that yourself. The greatest works of art don't need people to say how beautiful it is, it already knows it.

Your eyes... I miss staring into those beautiful eyes. The way we never seem to plan for something good to happen, the way it always was with us in the first place, up till now. The world isn't round, its an oblate spheroid, and that's how I know, nothing is perfect in our lives... Yeah, that's what I thought as well, till I met you. Plenty of things are always bringing me down, and I constantly find myself on the edge. I'm looking over, but I don't want to jump... I don't want to jump cause when I look behind me, there you are and everything just seems right again. I'm but a simple man, a hopeless romantic at times, but rest assured, every choice I made is for me... and for you... I know it's gonna be all worth it, you're the reason I'm still here and the reason I'm still breathing...

-For the world-

The world is celebrating "World AIDS day", dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection, is going to be celebrated on December 1 with the theme "Universal Access and Human Rights". I'm jut blogging about it to keep people aware about it, and how AIDS is still a leading disease causing deaths in the world. So for people who want others to be aware of the pain the world feels and keep the world at bay, please wear a small red ribbon to show we support the cure for AIDS, remember, one simple red ribbon can keep us all aware... :)

The Red Ribbon is the global symbol for solidarity with HIV-positive people and those living with AIDS.

-A hero, An idol, A man-

Kids... youth in general, is a far more complicated issue than one thinks. Phrases and quotes always refer to the youth as "the future of the world", but despite all the positive approaches towards the youth, there are still major problems and obstacles to be leapt over. Education, when one hears the word education, youth is usually the second word to come in mind, but are all of us educated the right way? Unfortunately, no... 2 out of every 3 children in the world don't even make it to a good reading level half their whole life, honestly, they don't deserve that. Every person in this world, young, old, girl or boy has a right to a decent education as the right to live.

It's not late, we can still do our part in helping the world, in general. Monday was a pretty slow day for me, nothing good seemed to be about, but I grabbed the newspaper yesterday and the front page was a young man Efren Penaflorida. Efren is a normal simple man, he has no super powers, but he is a hero. For nearly 12 years now, him and his team of teenagers have put up a decent reading and writing school for those unfortunate kids who can't really afford a good school. They have a unique classroom, mainly because, it's on wheels. They would push around a cart filled with books, pencils and paper for the kids to use. Everything free, including the solid bound of knowledge they receive from Efren and his team.
He grew up theway any Filipino kid would've grown up, in the influence of gangs. High school and elementary alike, are all the places where gangs and other negative social groups begin, kids as young as 7 and 11 would already know how to abuse drugs and steal. This sight is unbearable, but it's not the kids who are to blame, they are just confused, in a crisis caught between what is and what should be. Efren Penaflorida had the vision in his mind, and his heart. He knew it was his calling, his duty as a person to make a change. Gangs would always push him and persuade him to join back then, but Efren knew better, and now he's reached heights no one can ever take away from him. Being awarded The 2009 CNN Heroes Award was a brilliant breathtaking moment for anyone in the world, it shows that even the smallest man in the smallest places are recognized for their service to mankind. Since 1997, a total of 10,000 member have helped over 1,500 kids in the slums. For now, that's still a pretty small number, but imagine the possibilities if we all did help. We are all proud of Efren Penaflorida, he's doing his part... now, it's our turn... :)

-For the Greatest Men alive-

Today, as Wikipedia states, is "Father's Day". Apparently it doesn't seem to be felt here in the country, so I want to start. A father. He is human, he has the soul and the heart of any man. He made a child, an offspring... someone who is to make him proud someone he will look up to as well and expect the child to be happy in whatever he does. A father is simply the closest man who you can go to, to ask about life, ocassionally love but mostly when you need warm yet strong protection. He was always the person you never really approached but when you did, you know his warm smile and wise eyes would let you free. He was always the one who knew what to say when it needed to be said., the one who always kept you in the right path, he did it even though he knew it would hurt us at that moment but he knew in the end, we would still be the winners. He knew... he always knew... No one can be anyone without a father, it's hard... despite the dificulties and standards they always set for us, they always seem to be right... yes, it's annoying yet, we still have to admit, they're great at doing it. Even though they walked out the doors, and never came back always remember, they are a part of you... you could hate them, you could love them, but in retrospect, he will always be your father... A man, who when you graduate will shed a tear, and it will be the only one you see because after he sees you succeeding, he'll know he's done his job. He is always gonna be the one who puts up with whatever problem you deal with, whether it's a math problem or a broken heart... So, I hope for all those who get to read this post... please, look your father in the eyes, look through him, grab his hands that have held you time and time again, and tell him the thing that you have to say... always tell him, he's the one who made it all possible in the end... Tell your father you love him and nothing will ever change that... Thank you dad... :)

All fathers are invisible in daytime; daytime is ruled by mothers and fathers come out at night. Darkness brings home fathers, with their real, unspeakable power. There is more to fathers than meets the eye.- Margaret Atwood

-Moons in Astronomy-

New Moon was exceptionally good. We woke up early and caught the 10am show at SM Manila, there were only like 20 people in the cinema so got the best seats :) Well, I have to say it was a good adaptation compared to the 1st, although I have to say it's quite a cliff hanger, but hope you all enjoy watching it... graphics were quite good and Dakota Fanning looks really matured now haha~ We had to go to school right after the movie, we learned that NSTP doesn't start till next year so wohooo~ Take care people... salut...

-Just a flashback Pt.2-

Another awesome event I distinctly remember was when Laii, Joseph, Genie, Jeanray and I went to Fort Santiago. To those who remember that place, that was where Jose Rizal was brought and that place is filled with monuments and artifacts dealing with Rizal, it's a beautiful place if you're into old buildings and hge ancient parks, this is a good place to visit. So the place was really hot cause we went there exactly when the sun was right above us, but that didn't stop us it was a really great experience, it just gave us a chance to be in touch with the history of the country. People should visit the place more not only tourists but also the youth :) It should be appreciated more...

-Just a flashback-

These events happened before I even started the blog, so that's why I just want to acknowledge how great these were.

The first was the outreach program we had for the "Rizal" project, where we had to go to go to an old folks home and try to supply them food and try to entertain them. We had a long drive riding in the bus which started from school, the bus was really really packed and the drive there was really soothing and calm so a nap really came about easily.

So, after reaching the place, we had to walk a few metres to the home along with food with our hands. The place had quite a big area but it really seemed crowded with all the buildings next to each other, and it seemed to be overpopulated as well. As we entered their small hall for a small presentation, they brought in the old folks, most of them on wheelchairs, you could really see the wrinkles on their foreheads representing all the yesterdaays of their humble lives. We first had a small introduction of what university we were from, then we started the presentation with singing and dancing, and we also had an audience participation segment where we let them have a chance to let their voices be heard. Some told us stories that could bring a tear to even the toughest heart, some of them don't even know why they're there, while others said there just living the remaining days ahead. With this as our driving force, we tried our best to entertain them and at least make them smile.
The excitement grew as the next place we were off to was a swimming resort heh~ so plenty of swimming and sliding. We stayed at the resort longer than we stayed at the Old Folks home heh~ After the whole swimming fun, we headed on home back to school, everyone was tired but still the ride home was fun, stopping at a Starbucks and laughing the whole way back.

-Another day... that's like no other-

The day was really filled with events and all sorts of happenings, so could the day be more tiring... First had a super great English class with Prof.Alfredo he showed us a few portfolios of previous students as an example of what he expects from us, and then we had a really long discussion about the meaning of "skills" which lead to whole other topics hahaha~~ hilarious how we were trying to trace back how we ended up in talking about relationships. After that most of my classmates had to go to the 'Mini theatre' to be awarded and acknowledged for being in the "Dean's list", big congratulations to them :) and while they were gone the rest of us stayed in class and we met a Humanities professor, who was really super cool and mellow, he explained his love for the arts in a way unexplainable to me, he was Prof.Warto. His parents named him that cause he was born during World War Two, and amazingly he was on the back cover of the textbook we're suppose to use, haha we were all dumbfounded when he showed it to us, never met an author of a textbook face to face heh~ Hopefully tomorrow promises for more bright events and unforgettable experiences... Keep smiling... :)

-It all started with a mouse-

Yesterday was a huge celebration in all the resorts of Disneyland, it was Mr.Mickey Mouse's birthday yesterday. Born by the hands and imagination of the great Walt Disney on November 18 1928, Mickey Mouse quickly become a huge icon in the Disney's life as well as the world's. Mickey had no gloves until March 28 1928, this was to differentiate his black hands from his body. In 1978, on his 50th birthday, Mickey was awarded a star on the Famous Walk of Fame. As statistics go in the electoral processes in the United States go, instead of picking "none of the above" people would tend to write names of famous cartoons, and Mickey Mouse is by far, leading in the number of votes heh~ Mickey even has his own "Legal Rights Protection act" and is very strict especially in the U.S, this is to avoid piracy and plagerism with our favourite mouse. So, solid best wishes to Mickey Mouse whose silly antics and ever humorous acts have never ceased to amaze our lives. Happy Birthday Mickey... :)

"I hope we never lose sight of one thing- it all started with a mouse..." Walt Disney, 27th October 1954

-We keep on waiting on the world to change-

Hmmm... We do keep waiting and waiting and waiting... but I don't think waitings gonna change the world... we will... The youth is one of the important essential parts of any country's community, so I guess it just pains me to see how even our youth these days don't know their own potential and power. I always ride one jeepney ride before getting home and on the way home I see it all. I see what our country has reached, a level nearly unbearable and unimagineable. I know from deep in my heart, we are all much better than this, much much better. I just wish everyone would be more concerned about the whole country as one, rather than being diffrent and divided. A country is always a sign of the strongest bond, we should uphold that sacred bond... and as a democratic country we should always remember "Say what you need to say" before it's too late and I really do hope people start acting as one element more often and not only i times of need, we need heroes everyday not only on days of need... the most important part is knowing that they're there to catch us...

-The 2nd 2nd day-

Haha, alright, so sue me, I can't think of a good title for this heh~ So the 2nd day of school proved very much different from yesterday. Today I met a really cool warm kind of professor for English, he has like 3 or 4 degrees, but he still ended up teaching, I guess you can't blame him, seeing as to this was his real passion. He seemed mellow and down to earth, so it was easy for all of us to open up and keep a real smile up. The professor required us a journal which we are to write in till the end of the sem, I found it weird at first, but somehow I think the reason we're asked to do that is to awaken the "Indiana Jones" in us, and oh, he wants an entry everyday yeeshhh~~~The next professor we met was for Philippine History, he didn't look at all like what we expected, but respect to him for the PhD... The last one we met was for a Filipino subject, he was very soft and well spoken, but he did manage to crack a few jokes here and there... hopefully his teachings get through my thick "not-so-fluent-in-Filipino" brain heh~ Off shopping tommorow for books as well as groceries cause it seems that the fridge is empty, and that just scares the jeepers out of me... Hmmm... people don't use the word jeepers anymore... Another funny thing always getting my attention is how it seems that these last two days have always been a reunion for all the classes since we aren't all classmates anymore heh~ Oh, I came across a video on Youtube of me dancing "Sway" during prom, very very VERY funny heh~ Take care readers... Salut :)

-The 2nd first day-

The class was "pin drop" silent, all you could hear are whispers and the sight of people looking around, trying to adjust to the new people in the class. More than half of the class are from different classes, so that really caused everyone to be even more silent. The first two professors seemed strict, the aura and feeling they brought to to the class seemed to make the hairs on my back stand up. The Filipino professor really speaks Filipino, no English at all, phew~ it's hard to catch up, I'm really still freaked out with the fact that it might be hard... but I'm praying, praying, hoping that it'll get better. The last two professors granted me a breath of relief, the first one was for Physical Science, she seemed cool in a hippie kind of way, and the last one was for P.E, he was our previous psychology professor doing a part time job in the gym, I guess along with the whole French learning and learning ballroom dancing and other dances are really gonna be a great combination :) Well, after all of that, we had a chance to watch a great percussions performance by a National Ensemble from the University of the Philippines, amazing sounds, beautiful rythm and unforgettable beats. Amazing how even the oldest and most native instruments can really change the way we look at our culture and origins. What a day... hopefully everything will be better tommorow and the next... and the next... Goodbye~~

-The Great Hope-

Yes, Manny Pacquaio, dubbed "The Great Hope" by Time magazine has won yet another title. In the fight held at Las Vegas, crowds roared as the two great fighters stepped into the ring. The fight lasted for 12 rounds but due to Miguel Cotto not being able to continue, the referee had to stop the fight. Pacquaio really proved himself once again in the ring. With jabs, hooks and uppercuts, the peoples favourite put up a great fight. Miguel Cotto fought great and put on a great defense, he was really a good opponent for Pacquaio, a beautiful sight after the fight ended, Cotto showed respect to the Champion and also to himself.
"Manny Pacquaio could, very well be the next Muhammad Ali of our generation", says Mauricio Sulaiman, a boxing expert. So a really huge congratulations to the "Great pound for pound King" and also his family. Not only the Filipinos are proud, but the world as well. Let's all wish him well in his career and life. Stay strong and keep your hands up, people... :) A great day today not only for the champion, but because for one short moment the two great fighters brought the world together. Thank you...

-Greatness in the ring-

Nothing... nothing prepared the world for what was about to hit. The simplest man in the world from General Santos City in The Philippines, turned out to be the worlds greatest fighter over the last few years. Manny Pacquaio yet again is stepping into the ring for another fight that is about to change the way people see fighters in the ring. I remember watching Paquiao for the first time back in Brunei when I was still living in Beribi, he was a no one to everyone, but after historic fights with Marquez, De la Hoya, Gomez and Hatton, his name seemed to come out of everyones mouth, not only here, but the world knew of Manny Pacquaio. Good luck to him, as Evander Holyfield quotes "Its not the size of the man that matters, but the size of his heart".

-One last time-

3.25am... 3.25 was on the face of the clock. Doctors and nurses running here and there, the ER was more intense than a battlefield. She was crying, her tears dropped from her face onto the floor. She didn't see it coming, and neither did he. He just got back, after years away from her reach, he came back. Joy and happiness were the only ingredients she had in her life since he came back. What more could people in love ask for? In conclusion, everything seemed to go back to the way it was. Nothing much to think about, everything was just assignments, projects and tests, yes, those were the days, though, thanks to the inevitable acts of time, things always must change.

Dinner with candles were the right remedy to get things started again, to rekindle it all back for them. He never really had a hard time with any of it, it was simple with her. They were happy, although, there were times when things never really worked out, but no one was at fault. Work and play never mixed, which meant they both had different obligations from now on. Although days were brighter, he felt it, he felt something was on its way... just never had the chance to know what. He just waited patiently.

Do leaves fall off trees? Do raindrops fall from clouds? yes, and yes, people do pass on, they do leave. The sound of the plate breaking shot through her like a stake to the heart. It didn't sound good, it had an eerie feel after falling down. Her phone rang, her mouth couldn't utter the words her heart needed to scream out. Grabbing her jacket, she left without looking back, she couldn't look back. Thinking was inaccessible to her, the traffic light was nothing to her as were the other cars on the road. Time seemed so much faster than ever, and her world was revolving as fast as the hands of time were.

It was 3.47am, a nurse walked out of the operating theatre. They all stood up, and she took two steps towards them and shook her head, and with the feeling of condolence, she left to clean up. They didn't say a word, they all looked at the clock, it was late, they had jobs, but yet, nothing seemed to make sense after everything that just happened. One of them tried comforting her, she had just stopped crying, but her despair was uncontrollable, unbearable. The picture of him down on the ground of his room, his hand grasping his heart, it didn't hurt because of the pain, it hurt because he had to leave her. He closed his eyes, he said his last prayer took the deepest breath he ever took, and said her name one last time.

-Friday the 13th-

The famous date of Friday the 13th always had its insightful effects on our lives. People believe badluck will happen, others believe the worst of it. I actually noticed, this is our 3rd Friday the 13th of the year uuuu~~Well, somehow this day actually went well. Watched a movie, 2012, I have to say, this movie was not what I expected at all, if you guys liked ''The day after tommorow'', you're gonna love this one. Adam Lambert actually sings the theme song for this movie, so watch it for him, all you hardcore Adam fans ;)... Out of 10, I would say the movie is a solid 8, effects were good and the storyline as well. Planned to watch another movie after that but, school was starting soon so, budget budget BUDGET!!! Well, after that we say a very pleasant lady there in SM Megamall, a great performer won several awards and was performing for the benefits of the unfortunate victims of Bagyong Ondoy, Katy Perry ladies and gentlemen. Yeah, she was there for like a minute she just went on stage then left, unfortunately, due to the mini crowd formed, I was overwhelmed and forgot to take a photo, pfft~~ and low bat and my fones megapixel aint that high-tech heh~~ Well, thats my Friday the 13th, so maybe in a way or another, it may not always turn out as bad as you think... or could it??:) bubye people...

-More Pinoy greatness-

Alright so I mentioned comedians, now who knew but Filipinos are also huge in Cartoons. I came across a video with an account called "The Nutsack", these guys are cartoon artists who drew cartoons with mature content, kinda like The Simpsons and Family Guy, I didn't really mind at first but heck I noticed their logo had the 3 stars and a sun logo on it in the colours of the flag. So after google-ing them, turns out these guys are huge. They're actually up to their 2nd season in the series and they mostly talk about how Filipinos would grow up in a foreign country and try to adopt. Ramon Lopez, Jesse Hernandez and Joey Guila are only a few of the huge names behind the comedy which first aired in April 2007. So to all you mature cartoon fans, try checking them out.

Another shout out I wanna give is to So Real Crew, they're the 1st runner up in the 2nd season of "Randy Jackson's Americas Best Dance Crew" TV show, whose 1st season winners were the Infamous Jabbawockeez. So the crew is currently travelling the U.S. doing shows here and there, like the Jabbawockeez they have 6 out of 7 members who are also Filipinos, and they all hail from the southern state of Texas. Here in The Philippines, surprisingly, the name "So Real" doesn't quite ring a bell to their ears, although I watched them in the competition while I was still in Brunei, but, hearing that they're coming here soon, I'm sure their names are gonna leave something behind. They mentioned this after being on a show with Jo Koy, that they're really going to start their international tour soon, so I'm gonna keep myself posted about when the lines for that start. So for all those not familiar with them, please check them out on Youtube or on their site "sorealcru.com".EXPLOSION!!! :)

-Filipinos are Punny XD-

Hahaahhahaha... OK OK, I have to start the post with laughing cause I had a really hilarious day. Ok, so, me, being a really sophistcated complicated (right...) guy that I am, humour is a reaaaaaallllyyyy important element for me, you're nothing without humour and believe me, it will keep you young. Anyway, I was looking through Youtube and i came across a video with the title, "comedian Edwin San Juan", so I clicked it, he was one of the big time comedians in the U.S. and he is a Filipino. He is hilarious, especially to all my beloved Bruneian friends who find Filipinos funny, believe me this guy will crack you up. Another guy I found funny was Rex Navarrete, also another Filipino comedian there, this guys a little older but man... he is funny... and the last guy I really appreciated is actually really good friends with Russell Peters, and he was recommended to Comedy Central, his name is Jo Koy. Jo Koy is an American with a Filipino mother and an American father, this guy has done shows all over the U.S. and as well as other countries and was on A-ron Tv radio with So Real Crew who also have Filipino members. So to all you comedy lovers out there, please check them out. Keep laughing and smiling people...take care... XD

-A teacher, a mother, a friend, a life changer-

Wikipedia states that World Teachers Day is celebrated on Oct 5th. In Brunei Darussalam, due to the unfortunate wave of H1N1, it was celebrated on Thursday Nov 5th. So seeing that I'm away from the teachers I love, I'll just wish them well from here. This one's actually a tribute to one of the greatest teachers I have met, one who was a mother, a friend and a life changer all rolled into one. She teaches Bahasa Melayu (National Language in Brunei, Malaysia and Singapore... I think) a subject that most people find confusing, locals and me included. She's strict, her word will always be final in class. Unless you have a good reason, don't bother talking in class. Well, I have to admit, meeting here for the first time really had the hairs at the back of my neck stand up stiff, but who knew that one of the most strict teachers in school was one of the nicest and greatest teachers... in the world.

She has four kids. One of them actually happens to be one of my close friends in school. Cikgu Rokiah, a name that really is a head turner in school. Everyone knew her, both teachers and students respected her. Last years Teacher's day celebration with the theme 'Guru Pembentuk Tunas Bangsa' (Teachers; molders of the country's youth), was a commemorable one for the school. Cikgu Rokiah who has been teaching for nearly 6o years of her life, so experience is really on top of her achievements list. Held at the International Convention Centre, hundreds of teachers attended and thousands of viewers watched at the comfort of their homes. A special award was given to her and other teachers, which was for "Special Appreciation Award 2008", an award for being loyal and exceptional in the education field. She had the chance of meeting His Royal Majesty as well as other members of the Royal family that day.

I remember seeing her in the commercial of the event and how proud I was to say to myself that, she was my teacher. A moment of glory and pride was called upon, she was also honorably mentioned in the graduation. I remember during graduation, I was one of the students picked to sing on stage along with a few others and she was pulled by one of us, and she cried. The tears of a teachers for her students must really be appreciated for they have the love and good will that no mere grade nor diploma can ever replace. After high school was done for me, I would still occasionaly visit the teachers in school alo
ng with a small gift or as they call it there "sedekah". Cigku Rokiah was more than just everything that I mentioned, she had something that really mad us love her even more each day, she understood us, all the things we go through, about how hard it is to be a kid and about how hard it is to be alive, but believe me she will really change your life... I haven't talked to her in a while, but I can't wait to see her again... Terimah Kasih Cikgu, Mark akan sentiasa membuat cikgu bangga... Mark inda akan lupa apa yang cikgu ajar, dalam kelas dan dalam hidup... :)

-40 years of sunny days-

"Can you tell me how to get, how to get to Sesame Street?"

Any kid growing up can point out who Elmo, Big Bird and Cookie Monster are. Today, Sesame Street is 4o years old and counting. The show started on 1969 with Big Bird and a few characters still present in the current seasons. Although our generation lives in an age filled with spoofs and parodys especially about Sesame Street, I really hope that people are aware about how really important that show is not only to young kids but even to the oldest people alive. Sesame street isn't just a show to sing about the alphabet (and believe me they have all the versions of that song heh~) and learn how to share, but it is a show to teach how kids should cope with issues that our world would be facing now and then. The show has really evolved from having a cast of less than ten, the characters have come and go but still the ambience and love present on the show have never been stronger.

Sesame Street has also awared kids of AIDS by introducing a muppet who has Aids, Kami was her name. Along with President Clnton, they showed that a child should be understood and not rejected in a community, for a child with AIDS is nothing but a flower with a thorn, so we as people around it should make them feel as if they were the safest flower. Another issue Sesame Street tackled was how kids should deal with and be open about the war that happened in the Middle East that scarred their parents who fought in the war. They would also
be comforted by very special guest stars like Goo Goo dolls, John Mayer, James Blunt, Alicia Keys and more. It really is an honour to be presented as a guest star on the show for you aren't just helping kids as well as those who love them. So if you all have time, try to greet Sesame Street a happy 4oth Birthday and may they all continue changing lives as they always have sinced the first time they were on air... Btw just a trivia, isn't it funny that they're all 40years older, yet they are all still alot like children and haven't grown up at all?? Heh~~ food for thought... Take Care people... :)
