-40 years of sunny days-

"Can you tell me how to get, how to get to Sesame Street?"

Any kid growing up can point out who Elmo, Big Bird and Cookie Monster are. Today, Sesame Street is 4o years old and counting. The show started on 1969 with Big Bird and a few characters still present in the current seasons. Although our generation lives in an age filled with spoofs and parodys especially about Sesame Street, I really hope that people are aware about how really important that show is not only to young kids but even to the oldest people alive. Sesame street isn't just a show to sing about the alphabet (and believe me they have all the versions of that song heh~) and learn how to share, but it is a show to teach how kids should cope with issues that our world would be facing now and then. The show has really evolved from having a cast of less than ten, the characters have come and go but still the ambience and love present on the show have never been stronger.

Sesame Street has also awared kids of AIDS by introducing a muppet who has Aids, Kami was her name. Along with President Clnton, they showed that a child should be understood and not rejected in a community, for a child with AIDS is nothing but a flower with a thorn, so we as people around it should make them feel as if they were the safest flower. Another issue Sesame Street tackled was how kids should deal with and be open about the war that happened in the Middle East that scarred their parents who fought in the war. They would also
be comforted by very special guest stars like Goo Goo dolls, John Mayer, James Blunt, Alicia Keys and more. It really is an honour to be presented as a guest star on the show for you aren't just helping kids as well as those who love them. So if you all have time, try to greet Sesame Street a happy 4oth Birthday and may they all continue changing lives as they always have sinced the first time they were on air... Btw just a trivia, isn't it funny that they're all 40years older, yet they are all still alot like children and haven't grown up at all?? Heh~~ food for thought... Take Care people... :)
