-One last time-
3.25am... 3.25 was on the face of the clock. Doctors and nurses running here and there, the ER was more intense than a battlefield. She was crying, her tears dropped from her face onto the floor. She didn't see it coming, and neither did he. He just got back, after years away from her reach, he came back. Joy and happiness were the only ingredients she had in her life since he came back. What more could people in love ask for? In conclusion, everything seemed to go back to the way it was. Nothing much to think about, everything was just assignments, projects and tests, yes, those were the days, though, thanks to the inevitable acts of time, things always must change.
Dinner with candles were the right remedy to get things started again, to rekindle it all back for them. He never really had a hard time with any of it, it was simple with her. They were happy, although, there were times when things never really worked out, but no one was at fault. Work and play never mixed, which meant they both had different obligations from now on. Although days were brighter, he felt it, he felt something was on its way... just never had the chance to know what. He just waited patiently.
Do leaves fall off trees? Do raindrops fall from clouds? yes, and yes, people do pass on, they do leave. The sound of the plate breaking shot through her like a stake to the heart. It didn't sound good, it had an eerie feel after falling down. Her phone rang, her mouth couldn't utter the words her heart needed to scream out. Grabbing her jacket, she left without looking back, she couldn't look back. Thinking was inaccessible to her, the traffic light was nothing to her as were the other cars on the road. Time seemed so much faster than ever, and her world was revolving as fast as the hands of time were.
It was 3.47am, a nurse walked out of the operating theatre. They all stood up, and she took two steps towards them and shook her head, and with the feeling of condolence, she left to clean up. They didn't say a word, they all looked at the clock, it was late, they had jobs, but yet, nothing seemed to make sense after everything that just happened. One of them tried comforting her, she had just stopped crying, but her despair was uncontrollable, unbearable. The picture of him down on the ground of his room, his hand grasping his heart, it didn't hurt because of the pain, it hurt because he had to leave her. He closed his eyes, he said his last prayer took the deepest breath he ever took, and said her name one last time.
